Sunny Deol’s Bungalow Auction: Bank of Baroda has rescinded the auction notice for Sunny Villa, the Juhu property owned by Bollywood actor and Lok Sabha MP, Sunny Deol. The bank clarified on Monday that the withdrawal was due to technical reasons.

In an abrupt reversal within 24 hours, the bank has canceled the planned auction of Sunny Deol’s property, prompting questions from Congress leader Jairam Ramesh. In a Monday tweet, he questioned the origin of the technical issues cited as the reason for the auction’s halt.
The initial notice, released the previous Sunday, revealed that Sunny Deol had taken a loan of Rs 56 crore, which remained unpaid. The failure to repay the loan led to an auction scheduled for September 25 to auction the villa. The bank also issued a loan recovery notice, naming Sunny’s father, Dharmendra, as a guarantor.
Simultaneously, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh expressed doubt about this sequence of events on Monday morning. He said, “Yesterday afternoon, the nation learned that Bank of Baroda had put up BJP MP Sunny Deol’s Juhu residence for e-auction due to his failure to repay a sum of Rs 56 crore. However, in less than 24 hours this morning, the country was informed that Bank of Baroda had retracted the auction notice due to ‘technical reasons.’ One can’t help but wonder about the origins of these ‘technical reasons’.”
Sunny Deol’s official name is Ajay Singh Deol. He has been the BJP MP from the Gurdaspur constituency in Punjab since 2019, defeating the then Congress leader Sunil Jakhar. The seat was previously held by actor Vinod Khanna.
In the film industry, Sunny’s film “Gadar-400” has been highly successful. Over the weekend, the movie earned Rs 2 crore, bringing its total earnings to Rs 10.377 crore over 41 days, a significant achievement given its budget of 20 to 70 crore rupees. The film is now poised to join the 80 crore club.
Additionally, “Gadar 2” has outperformed the combined earnings of films like Hrithik Roshan’s “War” and Salman Khan’s “Bajrangi Bhaijaan.” On the current Sunday, “Gadar-2” is expected to surpass the earnings of other significant films like “Tiger Zinda Hai,” “PK,” and “Sanju” by a substantial margin.
