Ola Electric, a pioneer in the electric vehicle domain, has introduced its latest product – the S1X entry-level electric scooter – at an appealing introductory price of ₹79,999. This move marks a significant stride in Ola Electric’s quest to rival traditional internal combustion engine counterparts.

At a customer event held at the Ola Future Factory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, Bhavish Aggarwal, the founder and CEO of the company, unveiled the new S1X electric scooter along with its range of variants. The S1X lineup comprises three distinct models: the S1X equipped with a 2kwh battery, the S1X featuring a 3kwh battery, and the S1X+ which boasts an advanced 3kwh battery with enhanced connectivity features.

Aggarwal emphasized that the S1X variant with a 2kwh battery is being introduced at the special launch price of ₹79,999 for the initial week, after which it will be priced at ₹89,999. Interested buyers can immediately place bookings for this variant, with deliveries expected to commence in December. Similarly, the S1X variant featuring a 3kwh battery is being offered at an introductory price of ₹89,999 during the initial week, with the standard price rising to ₹99,999 thereafter. Enthusiasts can promptly reserve this variant, and deliveries are slated to begin in December.
Aggarwal underscored the distinct software and connectivity attributes that differentiate the S1X and S1X+ models. Notably, the S1X boasts an impressive range of 151 kilometers on a single charge and can achieve a top speed of 90 km/hour. Aggarwal conveyed his belief that these electric scooters mark a transformative departure from conventional internal combustion engine vehicles, underscoring the compelling economic advantages of electric scooters.
Furthermore, Aggarwal articulated Ola Electric’s unwavering commitment to advancing the cause of electrification in the nation. He accentuated the company’s strategic approach of developing key technologies in-house, capitalizing on economies of scale, embracing localized supply chains, and leveraging manufacturing engineering to establish price parity between electric and conventional vehicles.

Ola Electric also introduced the second-generation S1Pro, priced at ₹1,47,499 (ex-showroom), concurrently with these new launches. While immediate bookings are now open, deliveries are set to commence in mid-September. The revamped Ola Electric portfolio encompasses an array of offerings, including the S1X (2kwh), S1X, S1X+, S1Air, and S1 Pro, with prices spanning from ₹89,999 to ₹1.47 lakh.
In addition, Ola Electric showcased an intriguing range of four electric motorcycles – Diamondhead, Adventure, Roadster, and Cruiser – during the event. Bhavish Aggarwal proudly announced that these state-of-the-art electric motorcycles, conceived and engineered in-house, will make their global debut towards the end of 2024. These motorcycles, proudly crafted in India for a global audience, symbolize Ola’s bold step into the future of motorcycling.
To further elevate the user experience, Ola Electric also introduced the MoveOS4 update, incorporating over 100 enhancements and more than 20 new features. This update brings a multitude of innovations, including seamless integration with Ola Maps, hill descent capabilities, a “find my scooter” feature, as well as Geo and time fencing functionalities.
